Drinking Fountains

Regulations on drinking water supply set forth during the middle of the 20th century caused town halls to install a series of drinking fountains or water jets for the provision of water in the neighbourhoods and hamlets of the municipalities.

From that moment on, many public drinking fountains were built in Los Realejos. Some of them have been preserved until today, such as those found in Tigaiga, San Vicente, El Mocán, San Benito, Palo Blanco, La Montaña, La Zamora or in La Pila Street. The most remarkable drinking fountain is that located at the entrance to El Jardín neighbourhood.
