The scientific name is Jacaranda Mimosifolia. It belongs to the family of the Bignoiaceae.
It is a rapidly growing, deciduous tree with a round canopy. The cluster-forming flowers are blue to violet-blue. Flowers are normally 5 cm long.
Flowering always happens in spring, sometimes also in autumn. The tree is resistant to urban environments. Falling flowers have a carpet effect.
Its wood is much appreciated for its cream and pink tones. It is used in furniture and in the interior decoration of luxury cars.
