Palo Blanco House

Two houses from different periods form this architectural complex.

The oldest building is a two-storey house with a façade facing north, which was built in the second half of the 18th century by Agustín Fernández-Estévez Vasconcelos –the priest of Santiago Apóstol Church in Realejo Alto-, next to the Royal Route leading to the mountains.

During the second half of the 19th century, the house was passed on to the Abreu family, which was related with the Estévez-Vasconcelos family. Due to this, a second building was built, This was also a two-storey building, but its façade was facing East towards the old royal route.

Its present structure includes several rooms which were subsequently added during the first half of the 20th century. This was common practice for this type of buildings.
