Hermitage of Our Lady of Guadalupe – Country Estate of La Gorvorana

The foundation of this hermitage is due to the influence of the governorship of Francisco Gorvolán, one of the conquistadors of the Canaries. It is raised in the lands of the well – known Country Estate of La Gorvorana, nowadays the area of Toscal – Longuera. This building with a wide hall and a peculiar front with a semicircular façade, has got in the headline a remarkable altarpiece which could be made in the 1700s. Just a niche lodges the small image of Our Lady of Guadalupe, which follows the same pattern of the Extremaduran imagery, with the Jesus Child and the sceptre of the Divine force. It is flanked by the linens of St Peter and Saint Águeda.
